What is a shallow media filter?
The shallow media filter is composed of one or more standard high-speed filter units. The water flows through the internal water distributor and water collector. The quartz sand medium is used to remove particles and reduce turbidity.
What are the characteristics of shallow media filters?
It is characterized by high filtration rate and low pressure loss; modular setting, small footprint; optional manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic backwashing; backwashing water source can be selected from the system, water tower or external water source, and can be automatically switched; filtering Unit size 20"-56" optional; material carbon steel, stainless steel optional.
Why should a shallow media filter be used in the cooling circulating water system?
Because the cooling circulating water system is an open system, dust, impurities in the air and scale in the pipeline will enter the water and make the water quality worse; more impurities will easily block the copper tube of the heat exchanger, reduce the heat exchange rate, and affect the entire Cooling system effect;
Shallow media filters can filter impurities in the water, reduce turbidity, reduce the clogging rate of copper pipes, and maintain the normal operation of the cooling system, so the cooling circulating water system needs a shallow media filter.
Why is it side filtering?
There are two reasons why side filtering is used:
1. Cost: The circulation volume of the cooling system is generally relatively large (up to 4000T/H with a system), and the cost of full filtration is relatively high;
2. Circulation: The water system is cyclic, and the effect of side filtration is superimposed. For a long time, the water in the system has been filtered to achieve the filtering effect;
Which parameters are related to filter flow selection?
According to Duoling’s many years of application experience, the filter flow selection is mainly based on the circulation of the cooling system, generally 2%-5% of the circulation is appropriate
